​Where is lodging during my stay in South Africa?
Your lodging accommodations will be in a self-catered guest house in the Glenwood suburb of Durban in South Africa.  The home is located in a well-secured area located in the Glenmore area, minutes from many beautiful attractions within Durban and surrounding areas. For security purposes, the exact location of the guest-house will only be shared with participants once the payment has been completed, however, video is available.
 
What scheduled activities are planned?
The activities scheduled may include visits to the township, the village, various different practitioners of Traditional Zulu Culture (Traditional Healers; Traditional Herbalist; Traditional custodians of clothing & instruments; Traditional birth workers; etc.) as well as opportunities to visit main attractions in KZN such as uShaka Marine World and Max’s Lifestyle Restaurant.  A detailed itinerary will be shared prior to The Gathering. 

Will I have any time to explore on my own? (day trips and local attractions)
The itinerary for the Sankofa Gathering is generous in day activities. Should SA Gathering guests desire to venture out on their own, they would be responsible for your own transportation to and from the guest house for activities not included in the SA Gathering itinerary.

Is Airfare included in my investment?
SA Gathering guests are responsible for your airfare to and from Durban, KZN, South Africa as well as travel insurance (if you desire to purchase it) and transport to and from their local airports. 

Will transportation be provided to and from the airport?

• Airport PICK-UP to King Shaka International Airport in Durban, KZN, South Africa is included in guest packages for those arriving throughout the day on  Wednesday, March 27 after 12noon and Thursday, April 4 after 12noon. SA Gathering guests who arrive outside the scheduled date and time should plan to secure their own transportation from the airport. 

• Airport DROP-OFF to King Shaka International Airport in Durban, KZN, South Africa is included in your package for those with flights departing Tuesday, April 2 after 2pm and Wednesday, April 10 after 2pm. 

• A scheduled time for pick-up will be provided once flight itineraries have been provided to the hosts.

How do I secure pick-up and drop-off transport to King Shaka International Airport?
Participants are required to email the host their flight itinerary at LittleMasonSolutions@gmail.com two (2) weeks prior the start of the Sankofa SA The Gathering.  Participants are responsible for emailing flight itineraries in order to schedule pick-up and drop-off times. 

Do I need a U.S. Passport & Visa for this trip?
Yes, you do need your U.S. Passport. VIsas are not required for entry into South Africa.  U.S. citizens (U.S. passport holders) visiting the Republic of South Africa for ninety (90) days or less for tourism / business purposes do not need visas.

Do I need a certificate of vaccination and PCR Test for the Sankofa Gathering?
No, you do not need any vaccinations (i.e. yellow fever vaccination).  You do not need a PCR Test to enter South Africa or to return to the United States from South Africa. 

Will I be able to communicate with the host regarding additional questions or concerns about the Sankofa Gathering?
There will be at least two (2) Zoom Meetings for the purpose of introductions, information, expectations and question & answers.  In addition, you may reach out to the host with any additional concerns you may have at LittleMasonSolutions@gmail.com

What are the amenities of the guest house?
The guest house is equipped with WiFi, updated kitchen, large double bed rooms, private bathrooms and is located minutes from Durban main attractions. There will only be one participant per room and a "helper" will be avaiable for daily cleaning of rooms and shared spaces.

Are meals included with the package?
The kitchen will be equipped with common foods and coffee/tea for self-service breakfast. Participants will be responsible for meals at restaurants and events.  As the start date of Sankofa Gathering approaches, the host will inform the participants about additional meals included in the guest house.

Are meals included with my dietary restrictions?
Participants are responsible for informing the host, via email (LittleMasonSolutions@gmail.com), about their dietary restrictions. When possible, additional foods will be added to the guesthouse list of common foods available in the house. Guests with specific dietary needs should be prepared to purchase those foods which are specific to their personal needs.
As a participant with dietary restrictions, when the gathering visits restaurants, you are responsible for ordering food that fits your dietary restrictions.

Are discounts or sponsorships available for the Sankofa Gathering?
A 10% discount ($333) is available for those who would like to pay for the SA Gathering in a single payment. There may also be sponsorships available for Sankofa SA - The Gathering. Get more information and apply for sponsorship HERE.

Is Sankofa SA The Gathering a retreat?
Sankofa SA is not a retreat. It is a gathering for individuals interested in reconnecting to their African heritage on the continent.  This gathering is also specifically set aside for Daughters of the African Diaspora (DOAD).  The SANKOFA SA  The Gathering provides actual interactions with traditional environments and practitioners. It serves as an opportunity for  you to re-member your greatness, reconnect to source and reclaim your connection into your African heritage as a Daughter of the African Diaspora.

What is the BONUS OFFER, and what does it include?
The bonus offerings are Considering the Heavens sessions with Coach Gene and Dr. Doula.  Coach Gene is a veteran energy healing practitioner who practices Reiki, Tai Chi and other forms of healing modality to encourage clients to experience a lifestyle of traditional self-healing techniques.  Dr. Doula is a consultant who utilizes various Systems of Knowing to help individuals remember who they are.  With the Bonus offers each participant will receive one (1) energy healing session or one (1)  consultation during The Gathering.  This bonus offer is a $250.00 gift value for each participant.
